STAND UP FOR LOVE
What is STAND UP FOR LOVE?
Although the measures to contain the coronavirus were and are correct and necessary, they lead to a standstill of an entire industry.. and thus to major existential threats for many companies, service providers and venues that have made it their business to accompany and beautify one of the most important days in the lives of two people.
The wedding industry, which until now has been able to call itself healthy, has lost a large part of its revenue for the year overnight with the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Revenue that can no longer be generated.
Our STAND UP FOR LOVE initiative therefore targets the goal of drawing attention to the concerns and hardships of service providers in the event and especially the wedding industry.
What we want:

We lack goals and guidelines for the realization of weddings as well as plans for financial compensation for the loss of revenue on the part of Hamburg's politicians.
It seems that there is an overall standstill when it comes to transparent and bidirectional constructive communication.
The STAND UP FOR LOVE initiative aims to break this standstill! We want to get involved! We are a bunch of creative minds and are used to developing creative solutions. And we also have our wedding couples in mind, who are insecure just as much. And it is exactly because of this/our appreciation for the love between two people, their families and their friends, that we are more interested than anyone else in protecting it.
To create safe spaces and situations in which people can move around without fear and, above all, responsibly. If anyone can do that, it's us.
Who we are:
We, Sarah and Liv from beyond tales, have started the STAND UP FOR LOVE initiative together with Ankatrin Andresen. After the Senate of Hamburg announced that the wedding industry is on their minds at a press conference on April 17th 2020, we went from one press conference to the next, hoping for information and guidelines. But nothing happened. Instead, wedding after wedding was canceled and postponed. After the press conference on May 12th 2020, we ran out of patience and wrote our first letter to the Hamburg Senate. Two days and 84 signatures of companies later, we sent this letter to the Senate and things took their course. In the timeline below, you can retrace all the important steps in detail.

On May 26th 2020, we staged a “Still Life of a Wedding” with many wonderful colleagues at the Rathausmarkt in Hamburg to draw attention to our situation:
